United Arab Emirates Central Bank Governor Sultan bin Nasser al-Suwaidi said that US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner reassured him regarding the stability of the dollar during his visit to the region.
Geithner told Al-Arabiya Television that the US remains “committed to a strong dollar.”
He pledged that the US would take steps to rein in its borrowing.
