General Electric on Friday said it will maintain its quarterly dividend, despite calls by some analysts saying the company should suspend the payout. The next dividend of 12 cents a share will be paid on Oct. 25.

In June, Goldman Sachs analyst Joe Ritchie recommended that GE suspend the dividend in light of its bleak outlook.
