The Boston Globe can’t survive in its current form and may impose pay cuts of at least 23 percent if its largest union doesn’t approve a cost-saving contract next week, the newspaper’s publisher said.

Members of the Boston Newspaper Guild vote Monday on a proposal to save $10 million. It includes salary cuts of 8.4 percent and the elimination of guaranteed employment, people familiar with the plan said.
