Google, owner of the world’s largest search engine, is releasing a tool that helps users of its Chrome Web browser keep advertisers from monitoring their Web-surfing habits.

The program, called Keep My Opt-Outs, lets users opt out of so-called tracking, a method used by advertisers to tailor ads by gathering information about consumer Web use.
