GUCCI BAG BEEF
Gucci wants $4 million in damages from the Bank of China for allegedly covering up the sale of counterfeit handbags over the Internet.
The state-owned bank agreed to fork over $190,000 last year to settle charges it illegally withheld records involving MyReplicaHandbag.com and other Web sites.
But in a Manhattan federal court filing yesterday, the Italian fashion house said it still hasn’t gotten any useful information because the bank “stripped” vital details from the documents it turned over.
A lawyer for the Bank of China didn’t immediately return a call for comment.
