Hertz 24/7 is being 86’d.
The rental car giant is going to exit the rental-by-the-hour business on Aug. 31 — two years after it jumped into the sector to compete with Zipcar.
Weak demand is the reason.
“We found that most car-sharing customers were renting for longer than a 24-hour period, and utilization was very low Monday through Thursday,” a Hertz spokeswoman said Monday.
