Hogan’s risk- y move
JPMorgan’s former risk officer John Hogan is mulling whether to take on limited duties at the bank — or leave entirely.
Hogan relinquished his duties to Ashley Bacon in order to spend more time with his family. He is coming to work on Monday — but hopes to reduce his duties to maintain some of his increased family time, a source said.
Hogan, 47, took a four-month hiatus in order to be with his ailing father and deal with other family matters.
The executive, returning as Chairman of Risk, is revered as a sharp-eyed exec who may have spotted the “London whale” issues that whacked the firm had he been on the job longer.
Bacon is permanently taking over as CRO.
“John plans to carry out this important transition for several months,” Dimon said in the memo. “We then hope he will stay at the firm in another senior role, but he may choose to do something different outside of our company,” Dimon said.
