Michael Baron, an editor at website TheStreet.com, has been linked to an insider-trading ring that exchanged tips at basketball games, wsj.com reported. Baron’s pals were among six people arrested last week in New Jersey. The accused, some of whom are grads of Colonia (NJ) High School, allegedly made more than $1.7 million by passing on secret information about mergers and acquisitions and earnings of pharma companies, according to the US attorney’s office in New Jersey. Baron hasn’t been charged in the conspiracy.
