The young Huffington Post writer who was “suspended indefinitely” for borrowing liberally from an Ad Age columnist is returning to work on Monday.

Amy Lee ended up in the crosshairs when Ad Age columnist Simon Dumenco complained that HuffPost’s practice of summarizing stories from outlets and linking back to them generates little traffic for the original site.

He complained to HuffPost Editor Peter Goodman, who apologized and promptly suspended the writer.

The move led to a backlash from critics who said Lee was punished for doing exactly what the company had instructed her and other writers to do.

“We have completed an internal review of the process and policies relating to the publication of stories on HuffPost, and are pleased to welcome Amy Lee back to our newsroom,” a HuffPost spokesman said.
