Intel settled with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission over charges of anticompetitive conduct in the semiconductor business, the agency said Wednesday.

Under the deal, Intel will be barred from requiring computer makers to buy chips exclusively from the company, and from retaliating against customers if they do business with non-Intel suppliers

Intel is also required to modify intellectual property agreements with rivals such as Advanced Micro Devices and Nvidia.

The company did not admit any violation of the law in the settlement.
