Madison Square Garden owner James Dolan is taking his eye off the family ball over the next few months.
The New York Knicks and Rangers owner is setting off on a whirlwind concert tour starting Sunday, when he heads to Myrtle Beach, SC, to perform in his blues band, JD & The Straight Shot, to promote the band’s sixth studio album, “Good Luck And Good Night,” set to drop this fall.
Dolan’s band — he’s the frontman and guitarist — is opening for ’70s super bands The Doobie Brothers and Chicago.
The billionaire has been known to go on tour during critical moments for his teams, like earlier this year during the NBA draft, when the big question was whether Kristaps Porzingis would be traded.
Dolan was playing a gig at City Winery in Manhattan, a borough away from the Barclays Center, where the draft action was taking place.
