Kodak plots import ban
Eastman Kodak Co. is trying to ban the US imports of Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry phones and Apple Inc.’s iPhone after the companies refused to pay patent royalties on digital camera technology.
Kodak filed complaints with the US International Trade Commission in Washington and federal court in Rochester, New York. The ITC case claims Apple and RIM are infringing a patent related to ways to preview images, while the civil suit, only against Apple, concerns that patent and additional ones for digital cameras and computer processes.
