Lagardére is expected to announce next week it will extend a negotiating period with Hearst Corp. to agree on terms for the sale of its magazines outside of France.

That means a deal for Elle, Woman’s Day, Car & Driver and Road and Track likely won’t be inked until March so that Lagardére can give proper warning to French worker councils.

The companies have agreed on a price of roughly $953 million, a source said.
