Now that Jerry Speyer is on his way out the door, Richard LaFrak hopes to take over the lucrative contract for managing the 11,000-plus units at Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village.

According to news reports, Richard LaFrak, the 63-year-old Chairman and CEO of LaFrak Organization, which is responsible for Battery Park City and Lefrak City in Queens, said he is cobbling together a partnership with Centerbridge Partners and Wilbur Ross’s WL Ross & Co.

Other names being bandied about as possible managers include Prudential Douglas Elliman and Rose Associates. SL Green, which owns a now-worthless stake in the downtown residential complex, was mentioned as a potential candidate last week, but a person close to the company told The Post that the property manager has zero interest in managing residential real estate.
