Legendary Entertainment, which has funded movies such as “Steve Jobs,” “Godzilla” and “Straight Outta Compton,” is set to announce a majority sale to China’s Dalian Wanda Group this week.
Sources tell On the Money to expect official word of the slice from Beijing. Legendary Entertainment CEO Thomas Tull made the deal for $3.8 billion.
The Chinese firm already owns cinema theater chain AMC Entertainment, which it bought three years ago.
Legendary’s other owners include Japan’s SoftBank and Waddell & Reed, which are giving up their shares, according to Reuters.
