Liberty Global is in talks for a deal with UK’s Virgin Media, targeting a cable-TV provider worth more than $10 billion to compete in Europe’s biggest pay-TV market.
An acquisition would put Liberty Global in a dead heat with Comcast for the world’s largest cable company by video subscribers, with about 22 million. The companies are in talks “concerning a possible transaction,” Virgin Media said.
