Live Nation continues to push further onto Ticketmaster’s turf as it gears up to launch its own ticketing business in January.

The company today is expected to unveil a five-year deal to supply tickets to New York’s Roseland Ballroom – a venue previously serviced by Ticketmaster.

The pact runs through 2014.

Roseland, one of the country’s leading midsize music venues, hosts 100 shows annually – including past Live Nation-produced events from Madonna, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay and My Bloody Valentine – and draws more than 100,000 fans each year.

The deal comes as Cablevision’s MSG recently said it expects to re-sign with Ticketmaster for its ticket services.

Shares in Live Nation closed up 6.7 percent, or 83 cents yesterday, at $13.16. Ticketmaster shares closed up 4.4 percent, or 53 cents at $12.62.
