Corporate America is taking a rain check.

Dozens of companies, including drugmaker Pfizer, publisher McGraw-Hill and energy concern Entergy, postponed their quarterly results due to the storm.

The stock exchanges are closed for a second day, along with the bond markets, marking the first time trading has been canceled for two straight days due to bad weather since 1888.

Even companies out of harm’s way delayed results out of sympathy.

“We know firsthand the challenges, both personal and professional, associated with these storms, and the stress and distraction that uncertainty during these events can cause,” said J. Wayne Leonard, the CEO of New Orleans-based Entergy said in a statement.

“Clearly, the right thing for us to do is reschedule our earnings call.”

Entergy moved its report to Monday and McGraw to Friday. Pfizer will report Thursday.
