A macaroni and cheese brand sold in mega-chains in five states was voluntarily recalled over concerns that the products may have spoiled – but the “affected” products reportedly never made it to store shelves.

Reser’s Fine Foods recalled two of its macaroni & cheese products after learning on July 29 that one truckload of the brand’s products delivered to a Minnesota distributor may have gone bad due to refrigeration problems, a spokesperson told The Post.

The distributor that received the product was notified immediately to destroy any products that were compromised, the rep said.

Reser’s American Classics Macaroni & Cheese and American Classics Macaroni & Cheese White Cheddar were among several other brand products included in the brand recall, according to the Food and Drug administration.

The products are sold at popular chains such as Target, Safeway, and Walmart, in California, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, Fox News reported.

But a rep told Fox News that “no affected products ever made it to the [store] shelves.”

The recall was classified as a Class II risk, which means that the “product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” as per the Food and Drug administration.

Twelve more of the brand’s products have been recalled, including Reser’s Essential Everyday Original Potato Salad – 16 oz, Reser’s American Classics Scalloped Potatoes – 12 oz, Reser’s American Classics Asiago Creamed Spinach – 12 oz, and Reser’s Raspberry Parfait Desserts – 8 lbs, Newsweek said.

Reser’s Fine Foods also voluntarily recalled Hill Country Fare Mustard Potato Salad 48oz in July, sold in H-E-B and Joe V’s Smart Shop locations in Texas, due to the possibility of pieces of hard plastic foreign material in the package, according to the FDA.
