General Growth Properties fell 3.6 percent, the most in three weeks after a newsletter report that Simon Property may abandon a takeover bid for its smaller rival.

Simon is unlikely to move ahead with its buyout offer because of antitrust concerns, the REIT Newshound reported last night, citing sources it didn’t identify.
