Apple is going to roll out an updated iPad this spring, said Topeka Capital analyst Brian White on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” yesterday.
“I think we’re going to see another refresh come through sometime in mid-March. So iPad 5, I think will be a thinner; it’s going to be a lighter model and possibly they will tweak the display technology,” White said.
He said that it’s likely Apple will adopt Sharp’s new IGZO technology, which offers a higher pixel density, in its next iPad.
Separately, Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller told a Chinese newspaper the company will not resort to a cheaper iPhone to expand its market share.
