McCartney nixes EMI
Paul McCartney struck a deal with independent record label Concord Music Group that takes his solo work away from his longtime label, EMI Group.
McCartney and Concord will reissue the album “Band on the Run” that he made with Wings as the first release. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
The London-based label was acquired by private equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners Ltd. for $6 billion in 2007 and is now trying to raise money to meet debt obligations.
