Merrill Lynch President Greg Fleming is resigning from the company and will take a teaching position at Yale University, according to a person briefed on his plans.

Fleming, 45, joined Merrill in 1992 and was slated to become head of investment banking at Bank of America Corp., which purchased Merrill January 1.

At least four senior executives have quit Merrill since the takeover closed. Earlier this week, Robert McCann, Merrill’s private wealth president, resigned.
