A new smaller iPad could be ready for back-to-school season, according to an analyst’s report.

Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets, in a report issued yesterday after he returned from a research trip to Taiwan, said he was hearing from parts vendors that Apple was set to launch an “iPad MiNi” this September.

Recent “mini” rumors have been more detailed, saying Apple has been experimenting with a prototype iPad that is 20 percent smaller with similar screen resolution as its iPad 2.
