The widow who owns half of the Modell’s Sporting Goods chain, Abby Modell, has lost, for now, her battle to remove her brother-in-law Mitchell Modell as co-trustee of her 50 percent interest in the lucrative business.

Mitchell owns the other half of Modell’s, and is the chain’s CEO.

Abby is the widow of Mitchell’s brother, Modell’s co-founder Michael Modell, who died of cancer at age 48 in 2001. The Modell in-laws have been fighting since 2010.
