Microsoft won a quick hearing on its request to delay imposition of an order that would affect its ability to offer features in its popular Word program.

An appeals court in Washington will hear arguments Sept. 23 on Microsoft’s request that the order be put on hold until the court rules on Microsoft’s appeal of an underlying patent-infringement verdict won by closely held i4i LP of Canada.
