Mum’s day for Sony
Sony is becoming a code word for radio silence.
Yesterday, the entertainment giant missed its own deadline in getting its beleaguered PlayStation network back up and running.
Sony said a week ago Sunday that it would have its system up by the end of the week. But that was before an additional attack on the gaming service.
So far, hackers have obtained access to stolen names, passwords, e-mails, addresses and birthdays, and Sony has yet to rule out the possibility that credit card numbers also were stolen.
Since the first attack on April 19, Sony has been rebuilding the PlayStation network, and is now testing security internally.
