The New York Times Co. said Tuesday it will sell its regional news group to Halifax Media Holdings LLC for $143 million.
The group includes 16 regional newspapers including the Sarasota Herald-Tribune in Florida, the Star-News in Wilmington, NC, and The Gainesville Sun in Florida.
The deal is expected to close in the first quarter.
