News Corp., owner of The New York Post, posted a return to profit in its fiscal fourth quarter.

The company recorded net income of $89 million versus a loss of $379 million in the comparable period. News Corp. also reported a 5 percent increase in revenue, to $2.2 billion, in the fiscal fourth quarter, beating estimates.

The global content giant reported a better performance at publisher HarperCollins, where revenue rose $43 million, thanks to Anderson Cooper’s “The Rainbow Comes and Goes,” a collection of correspondence with his mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, and in the digital real estate unit, where revenue jumped 21 percent.

Income from continuing operations in the period through June 30 was $114 million, with total segment Ebitda of $361 million.

Earnings per share from continuing operations were 16 cents, versus 1 cent during the prior year’s quarter.
