News Corp. reported better-than-expected revenue and matched Wall Street earnings estimates for its third fiscal quarter.
Chief Executive Robert Thomson said the quarter’s results, released after the market’s close on Thursday, were noteworthy for revenue growth in each of the company’s four segments.
Thomson cited “outstanding performances” in digital real estate services and book publishing, which produced sales gains of 27 and 6 percent, respectively.
The Post attracted 87 million unique visitors to its Web site in the quarter, Thomson said — a year-over-year spike of 72 percent.
Overall, News Corp. revenue rose 6 percent, to $2.1 billion — beating estimates.
Adjusted earnings per share of 6 cents were down from 7 cents a year ago but equaled the Wall Street consensus.
