Cablevision is combining the news operations of Newsday, News 12 and MSG Varsity under current Newsday Editor-in-Chief Debby Krenek — who is moving upstairs, while Debbie Henley becomes the new editor handling day-to-day operations at the Long Island newspaper.

Krenek will be senior vice president, digital group, Local Media, as well as editorial director of Newsday. In her new role, Krenek will have the head of MSG Varsity and News 12’s Interactive reporting to her.

The company said it is also combining its Newsday sales staff, currently headed by Newsday publisher Fred Groser, under David Kline, president and COO of Cablevision Media Sales.

Larry Dunn, senior vice president of sales of Newsday, and staff will report to Kline and Groser under the new arrangement.
