Mark Parker, the CEO of Nike, is not only a talented footwear executive, but he has a keen sense of timing.
The 56-year old Swoosh lifer last month exercised his option to buy 1,000 shares of Nike stock at $26.12 a share and immediately sold them for $98 a share — pocketing a cool $72,000.
While the proceeds won’t turn any heads, and the 1,000 shares is a small piece of the roughly 276,000 shares he owns, the $98 price shows his timing is top-shelf; it’s just pennies off the company’s 52-week high.
