“Take a seat in the third stall and a tax preparer will be right with you.”

I spotted this sign in a Sears store in Middletown, NJ, the other day and thought it is completely unfair that women get this sort of service in their restroom and men don’t. (Men, of course, do have their hands full under similar circumstances but still …)

And while I’m on the subject — and this is only time I’ve ever been on this subject — I’ve always wondered why it is called a “restroom.” Nobody would ever spend any more time than necessary in a newsroom bathroom. And we certainly don’t go in there to rest.
