NY jobless rate sinks
New York state’s unemployment rate fell to a one-year low in April as companies added jobs for the fourth straight month, according to state data.
Private payrolls increased by 31,500 jobs last month, reducing the unemployment rate to 8.4 percent, the lowest since May 2009, from 8.6 percent in March.
