The New York Times said Thursday it sold a stake in New England Sports Ventures to Henry F. McCance of venture capital firm Greylock Partners.
A dollar figure was not released in the deal. The New York Times said it would record a pre-tax gain in the second quarter of 2010 relating to the sale.
The media company said it will continue to own a 16.6 percent interest in the venture, which owns the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
