Mary Jo White, Wall Street’s top regulator under former President Obama, has returned to her old white-shoe law firm Debevoise & Plimpton — less than a month after leaving her post atop the Securities and Exchange Commission.

White, who served as SEC chair from April 10, 2013, until Jan. 20 of this year, will be the senior chair of the firm at its New York offices.

About the only change, it seems, is that the firm assigned her to a different office.

White will rejoin her former head of enforcement, Andrew Ceresney, who returned to Debevoise late last month.

The pair aren’t the only SEC executives in the Obama administration to return to private practice.

Stephen L. Cohen, the SEC’s former associate director of enforcement, joined Sidley Austin’s regulatory practice in Washington DC, earlier this week.
