US crude futures ended higher yesterday in volatile trading as the dollar’s weakness helped offset concerns about demand as oil rebounded following a 5-percent plunge in the previous session.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, June crude rose 76 cents, or 0.77 percent, to settle at $98.97 a barrel, after seesawing between $95.25 and $100.49.
