The kickstarted smartwatch-maker Pebble is landing at Best Buy.

Pebble, which was one of the most successful crowdfunded projects on the New York-based Kickstarter site, took another step into the mainstream with a Best Buy deal — bringing its $150 smartwatch to stores next week.

Last year, Pebble broke crowdfunding records with a more than $10 million haul from backers to develop its pioneering smartwatch, a device that beat a number of high-profile electronics makers to market.

In May, Pebble ditched crowdfunding in favor of venture capital and raised $15 million to expand its business.

Pebble joined Ouya, a video-game console maker, as the only two projects to jump from Kickstarter to venture capital fundraising.

Ouya also made it to major retailers last month with its Google Android-based gaming system.

“Pebble is now ready for primetime,” CEO Eric Migicovsky says in a video on the store’s site. Pebble watches hit store shelves on Monday.
