Philly stakes
Lenders to Philadelphia Newspapers, the bankrupt owner of the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Daily News, won a $139 million auction for control of the company against a group led by billionaire Ronald Perelman. The new owners said they won’t make wholesale job cuts as proposed in their initial bid.
