On the Money spies may have found cause for some companies to worry.
Blackstone Group head Stephen Schwarzman, perhaps the biggest buyout king; JPMorgan’s Jimmy Lee, who finances the largest deals; and Dan Loeb, one of the more influential shareholder activists, were seen dining together at the Four Seasons recently.
Were Loeb and Schwarzman plotting a corporate raid to be financed by Lee?
Loeb was in the news last week, calling for Dow Chemical to split itself in two and that he took a position in BlackBerry.
A source close to Schwarzman said he is good friends with Loeb and Lee, and if a meeting occurred it had nothing to do with the chemical giant.
