Perhaps because of the rapid job loss on Wall Street — likely in the lower-paying ranks — the average pay in the financial sector grew last year, albeit at a tiny 0.5 percent, to $362,990, according to a report from Moody’s Marisa Di Natale.
The slight rise in pay came despite a 72 percent drop in Wall Street profits, according to Crain’s New York Business, which first reported on the pay increase.
