How tough is it becoming for private equity firms operating in Europe?
An interview with the head of the party of European Socialists, Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, reveals that there is a serious push to regulate the activities of PE firms overseas.
The former Prime Minister of Denmark sounds measured, making him a formidable opponent.
“It is a fact that the overloading of debt has weakened the companies concerned,” he says. “And this is why private equity has to be regulated.”
