Quest Diagnostics of Madison, NJ, and its Nichols Institute Diagnostics unit agreed to pay $302 million to resolve allegations that Nichols sold misbranded diagnostic test kits.

The accord settles criminal and civil suits, Brooklyn’s US Attorney, Benton Campbell, said. Nichols pleaded guilty to felony misbranding charges yesterday before Judge Sterling Johnson in Brooklyn.
