REORG SEEN AT YAHOO!
Yahoo! is close to unveiling a reorganization that could further shake up the ranks at the Internet search company and centralize a number of divisions into global product groups, as the firm faces pressure to jump-start profits in the wake of Microsoft’s failed bid.
According to a story last night on the Wall Street Journal Web site, the moves are being instigated by Yahoo! President Susan Decker, who is seeking to improve communication between the company’s various product teams and overseas sales groups. The company is expected to announce some of the changes as soon as next week, the Journal said.
The changes come as Yahoo! has been rocked by a flurry of departures by top executives.
