Research In Motion’s BlackBerry customers in parts of Europe, the Middle East and Africa suffered a service disruption on the same day Apple introduced a new iPhone, the second time that’s happened in two years.

The three-hour malfunction, which sank RIM shares by 6.5 percent to $6.46, has been resolved and didn’t affect North America.
