Rodale yesterday killed off Best Life, after the title failed to meet internal goals while losing an estimated $3 million last year while racking up a 22 percent jump in advertising pages.

Launched five years ago, Best Life was the brainchild of Men’s Health Editor-in-Chief David Zinczenko, and attempted to be Rodale’s version of a magazine that combined a literary bent with upscale luxury.

“There are no regrets, you can’t hit a home run unless you swing hard,” said Zinczenko, who was editorial director.
