SAC Capital founder Steve Cohen is considering a negotiated settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to a report.

Cohen, whom the SEC has charged with failure to supervise his employees, hopes settling the case will allow him to continue in the securities business, CNBC said Tuesday.

The SEC has considered banning Cohen from the industry for life.
