A US judge yesterday granted Apple’s request for a preliminary injunction against the sale of Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Nexus phone, the latest development in a worldwide patent battle between the two rivals.

The decision came from US District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, Calif. Samsung may get a ruling by July 1 on its request to delay a ban on US sales of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer won by Apple, the judge said.
