CEO Vikram Pandit was among Citigroup officers and directors who won dismissal of a lawsuit claiming they breached their duty by manipulating the market for auction-rate securities.

US District Judge Laura Taylor Swain in New York dismissed it on procedural grounds because the plaintiffs failed to ask the bank to bring the case itself. The plaintiffs, led by the Louisiana Municipal Police Employees Retirement System, can file a new complaint.
