For Milan Patel, the path to K2 was through Silk Road.

Patel, the former chief technology officer of the FBI’s cyber division, is joining corporate investigator K2 Intelligence as a managing director — the second G-man to make the jump to the company in a month.

K2 Intelligence helps banks and other companies stay up to date on cyber-security and anti-money-laundering rules.

Both Patel and Austin Berglas, who lead the bureau’s cyber-branch in New York and joined K2 Intelligence last month, worked on the investigation of the online drug market Silk Road.
